Phunkmaster KANE testing the new ALUPERM

Back in the days before writers were spoilt with flow markers of every possibility, they had to create their flow through their styles and with a little bit of craftsmanship. Markers back then had metal bodies, felt tips and ink wells you couldn't just access by pumping your marker tip. You had to "Pimp your marker" so it got the flow and the look, you wanted...

However with this came many positive aspects as writers created their own tip markings and carved their markers into unique tools that were adapted to the individual's style and application. The Montana Aluperm marker takes us back to those days where you controlled your marking destiny. We got our man Kane TPM, SCM who was one of Germany's pioneering writers, to school us on how it works. All you need is some sort of cutting blade and of course some rich Black Montana Black Fluid.

Firstly he used the blade to gouge the felt tip to make it looser and more pliable. This aids in the markers movement when you are using it with curved lines or flowing movements. Then he carved a section of the tip so that it curved in the direction he wanted it to when pressure was applied. This was one of his signiture tip styles back then.

Secondly, Kane told us that depending on the surface you prefer to write on, the flow of the marker is also aided by the amount of ink it has. You can either take the tip out and pour your ink into the barrel. Or you can pour the ink into the head of the marker also offering a little bit of extra lubricant for your tip.

Finally, it all comes down to you and your flow. As we can see Kane had alot of fun personalising his marker and making it fit to his needs. Check out what was made during the process.
